    Bad News For Taurus

To be honest, I haven't seem any problems from the Taurus semi autos. However, my experience has been that their revolvers are pure junk. This is based on a sample size of three- two Tracker .357s and one .45ACP with moon clips. All three had problems with the firing pin not returning into...

    PSA AR9 Pistol Build

I'm glad they replaced it- and even better that it appears to be a much better bolt. For what it's worth, aside from adding a little mass, that thing on top of the bolt doesn't do anything on an AR9. It would probably have shot fine without it. I only mention this in case someone has a...

    PSA AR9 Pistol Build

Nice! I'm becoming a big fan of these little pistol caliber carbines. Cheap reloading and they're pretty darn accurate. I've got a second one in the works now.

    Bad News For Taurus

I read that as "Circus Judge" the first time I glanced over the post... I was thinking "Yep- that's appropriate"

    Bad News For Taurus

They couldn't afford to ship the equivalent number of hi-points. I don't think the company would be affected- those two former executives will probably be burnt at the stake though.

    Map of NFA Weapons

Yes! I agree! Now let me go check with my wife- ;)

    Map of NFA Weapons

Wow... cool graphic. And I wouldn't let the Alabama thing bother us too much- it's listed as per 1,000 residents. We have 10.1 million people and they have 4.8 million- adjusting that, their 20 per 1000 becomes more like 10 per 1000 if they had Georgia's population.

If you play stupid games with the ATF, you win stupid prizes.

So what was his name on ebay?? :) And to those with no sense of humor- i.e. alphabet police- I was kidding. This is an internet joke... I bought all my silencers after jumping through the required hoops.

    reloading like it's 1699

I would expect the lead shot to end up a lot less grainy. As I'm sure you know, flux the molten lead with a small piece of wax to get the junk (slag) to float to the top. And even if a piece or two of steel end up in the melting pot, I would expect it to float to the top of the molten lead...

    reloading like it's 1699

I'll agree that does look terribly grainy. I might cut off a piece and see if it bends or cracks in a vise. Or just try to crush the end on one of those small rectangular pieces as cast. I don't have any experience with zinc contamination. I did some reading yesterday on cast boolits and the...

    reloading like it's 1699

Nice- I used to do that with Dad after we spent a day digging bullets out of the backstops at the gun club. Although we weren't that traditional- we used a propane burner. And our pan was really crappy compared to that one ;) The melting will speed up a lot once you get some liquid on the...

    New (to me) Colt 1917

    PMAG covers

I can't argue with that. I'm sure the covers wouldn't hurt anything.

    PMAG covers

I think I sold all the mags I had that came with covers during the last panic. Honestly, the mags I keep loaded are all aluminum body mags. I've had some of them loaded for a long time and they still function fine. Sorry- no good info relative to mag covers.

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

Because the good deals know when payday is two weeks away ;)

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

I can go with the "nose to charging handle" position on irons, but I'm farther back on the scoped rifle. And honestly, that rear cap may be barely stuck on the scope in that picture- I just take the damn caps off at the range. I don't like the flip open covers. But I also don't like...

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

I gotcha- I couldn't resist. I've done the Eo Tech/Aim Point route with irons before. I finally realized that I don't really need the red dot at sub 50 yards... and I didn't shoot good groups with them at 100 yards. So back to fixed irons for me. Now a 4x scope is a different story. I...

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

    1. Remove optic. 2. Install carry handle. 3. Operate.
