    SBR upper?

Primary Arms has a few uppers on sale right now too. Barrel lengths... if it's .223/5.56, I wouldn't go shorter than 10.5". .300BLK was developed for an 8" barrel if I'm not mistaken? Someone chime in and correct me on that one. Given the cost of ammo, I'm a fan of .223/5.56 for an upper...

A Truck Gun, Fantasy or Reality - GRYlife Article

Good read- and an excellent point about becoming the aggressor should you retrieve a "truck gun" and go back in harms way. Personally, I'm just not leaving anything valuable in the car. For that matter, I won't even leave a well used ESEE knife in there- I do have a Mora or two though. I...

Just got my xl650 up and running

I'm really glad to read that- it sounds like you are definitely on the right track. I was only worried because it's not all about re-sizing and reloading. I like to trim my brass to the middle of the allowable range. From what I remember, it's about 0.010" for .223/5.56. I generally trim to...

Just got my xl650 up and running

Really awesome setup! Just make sure you are checking the OAL on that fired brass... one long case neck can detonate a rifle. I only say that because you mention it's your first press. Regardless of how many times the brass has been fired (once or not) the overall length of the brass can...

    Panic Stockpile Apocalypse 2016

5 Glock stick mags and an AR9 upper. I'm blocking PSA's website from my computers until further notice.

    PSA AR9 Pistol Build

I'm glad to hear it runs well with the spacer in the tube. This really makes me wonder if I should add one too- And I've got to wonder if the sheared BCG key was because it traveled too far back and allowed the key to contact the tube/rear of receiver?

    Precision AR build.

Let me know and we will make it happen. The weather is about to cool down and make for great range days.

    Precision AR build.

    That is interesting.

    Precision AR build.

Make time to meet me at my gun club in Macon and you can shoot a 20" bull barrel AR, a pretty nice .223 bolt gun, and if you want a .308 bolt. All three shoot MOA or better. Bring ammo and a sack lunch. I can give you more details if you're actually interested.

    What causes a light strike?

One other thing- Winchester primers are notorious for having harder than average primer cups. They're also known to be a slightly hotter primer than CCI/Remington/etc. There's your reloading trivia for the day. I also agree with what everyone else said- gunk in the firing pin channel could be...

    Leshaire reviews a Daniel Defense

I have finally come to the "quality over quantity" point in my life... I need to dump a few ARs and invest in one really nice one.

    Snacking

Star Kist has come out with some fairly decent tuna salad in a can- it comes with a few butter crackers (AKA Ritz) and a plastic spoon. The boxed kit goes for about $1.75 at Kroger. I think it's 9 grams of protein, almost no fat, but a pretty good bit of sodium. Typical of most prepared...

    300 Black Out

You'll have to skip dinner for like a week to raise those kinds of funds at wal-mart! :)

    300 Black Out

Ahhh.... I go to the basement to clean a 10/22 and miss all the action around here... I assure you the rounds fired were subsonic- it actually sounded really good. Of course, there was someone shooting some kind of magnum pistol about 50 yards away, so I may be biased. @Red Dawn 's .300BLK...

Anyone going to the Guns of August match?

I really wanted to go to this- but I've got other things that have to happen tomorrow. We have all the kids this weekend and my Mom's house is getting a new roof bright and early on Monday... the new roof means I have to go down there and cut a bunch of tree limbs back. The limbs are currently...

    Low end AR brand poll

I've had at least three Delton (DTI) upper assemblies over the years- all shot fine. I believe that they all had DTI BCGs in them also- However, these days PSA gets most of my AR money.

    Low end AR brand poll

What are we comparing here? Uppers, lowers, complete factory built rifles? I've had a couple DTI uppers, never one of their lowers. Never had a SOTA anything, but have had a few Anderson lower builds. They seemed to be fine. I'd toss Aero into the mix too. Had one of their factory assembled...

Can we talk about back up 'iron' (polymer) sights?

The installer failed to retract the jackleg before tightening down on the sights.

    PSA AR9 Pistol Build

I forgot about the buffer retainer pin- that should cover 2 of the remaining 3 percent... but I also understand about being in the 1% club. I'm partially taking this from Rudy at Macon Machine- he commented once that he mills the upper extension off of the AR9 bolts.

    PSA AR9 Pistol Build

Can't rotate around- hammer is in the way 97% of the time, except for the very short time the hammer is completely down in the lower.
