Although my dad ain’t shit, he did try to build a relationship with me once I moved back close. So I can respect that but that bond just will never be there. He’s just a example of what I won’t be as a dad.

That's happened so many times over the years, I've lost count. But that particular time I went to put my shoes on and leave afterward but he called 911. Of course LE won't hear my side or let me press charges. So that's what I have to see the judge and explain every 5 years. All charges were dropped but they apparently never closed the case, there's no "date."

Long story short, I don't talk to my dad anymore and so by extension I don't ever get to see my mom. THAT part is painful but if he treats her right and she's happy, I can live with it.
