Also, I wasn't really knowledgable at the time on milsurp stuff and had focuses elsewhere at 18 lol. My neighbor gave me a Finnish M39 for my christmas one year and I remember not liking it cus it smelled so bad. The sling on it smelled like a old comblock's butt sack, the gun had seen better days but it was dead on accurate. I ended up trading it for a Yugo restamp K98 and regret that decision to this day.

I am WELL stocked on mags, lol. I have enough mags to last me and my kids our whole lives. I was talking about for future profits. I know I wish I bought a bunch of Mosins for $50-$75 and Chicom AK's for $400-$500(that's how much they were when I started getting into guns, I'm sure some of you boomers remember when you rode to town on your grand pappy's horse and buggy and they were $10 at the General Store).

I will have you know I bought Norinco Ak's for 180.00 and SKS's for 49.00 each buy the case in the 80's so no sir not 10.00 but damn cheap.

I am 25 and remember when mosins were like 69 bucks and wasr's were like 400. I remember being at gun shows when I was like 18 thinking I could always get a mosin when i get older, they aint going anywhere. I was a kid and poor at the time. Wish I had gotten one. Also remember seeing spas-12's for 1000 bucks thinking wow thats a lot of money. Now they want like 2500 for them on gun broker, and they actually get that for them.

Shit man, I bought an AK-74 for $400 back in 2010 when nobody wanted 74's. It was when Century had imported a ton of those Bulgarian kits and had someone else(I forget who) build them out on Nodak Spud receivers. Crazy what 10 years does. Those same exact guns are selling for $700-$800 now when you can find them.

it all comes back to the Obama import ban doesn't it? I mean if that sanction was never imposed we wouldn't have seen such a hike up in prices for AKM shit and general Comblock milsurp stuff

I will have you know I bought Norinco Ak's for 190.00 and SKS's for 49.00 each buy the case in the 80's so no sir not 10.00 but damn cheap.

Inflation, yo! I could have done just as good even if I spent $463.68 each on Norinco AK's back in the late 90's-early 2000's...

I was thinking, with Tapco going out of business, should we be buying up Tapco mags? Is this gonna be like another Chinese AK thing, or a Mosin Nagant thing? When they were plentiful and cheap nobody wanted them but when they were gone everyone wanted them and they were going for 3-4x what they were when they were around? I mean, Tapco mags aren't horrible, it's the rest of their shit that sucks and makes people embarrassed to own their mags.
Well, I got into the game well ahead of time - got 6 of the 20-rnd SKS bastards when they were $12 each. But I've always hated the fucking 'Duck Bill".
So now I can sell 'em for more than I paid and not cry over it at all!
WINNING!!!!

Side note - because I'm too cheap to buy a bunch of REAL bakelite mags, (only got 2), I DID buy a pair of Fakelite Orange Tapco mags for $20, used. Those things should be GTG for selling, or keeping, or whatever. The AK isn't my 'Go-To' gun anyway.
I had been considering polishing the plastic somehow to try making it look even more like Bakelite. But that's pretty low on the priority list.
