I bought an sbr that was on a form 1, had it shipped to class 07 and he pinned and welded on a faux can to make it a rifle.
Original owner sent a request form to unregister and I took it home as a rifle.
Now it's in jail waiting on a form one to remove the faux can.
Easy, just a 1 month or so wait on a form 1.
My understanding is that if it's SBR form 4, you have to form 4 transfer and a long wait like 8-14 months

write the BATFE and tell them you’re taking it out of SBR configuration. If you Google there’s some good examples of formats to write said letter.
