Deets on the AUGs/Tavors.
Well, many years after it was introduced, Steyr created a half ass version for civilians. The original is top quality and still used in multiple countries.
IWI didn’t even wait, they displayed and tested the original but actually started with a fragile half ass version for civilians (still being sold)

Current civilian Augs (any made in the last 10+ years) are substandard crap. Same with all imported Tavors (neither come close to their original milspec variety)
FS2000 or older original Aug ($5k+ now, had 2 should have kept them) are the only good reliable and readily available 5.56 bullpups.
Also, GayCell are only a cheaper option to Scar16 and MR556, but not better in any way
I missed the train on FS2000. Would love to have one.
What's wrong with the current production Steyr AUG (I heard a lot of horror stories about the clones)? I am 60% set on getting one. A few pistols I want are either OOS or over priced, compare to what I want to pay. So I need a new gun to scratch that itch.

Oh the Aug clones, they’re even worse of course.
Either originals from early 80s or forget it on the Augs.
FS2000 are still around, seen them from $1800-$2800 lately (best option for the money on a bullpup in my opinion)

Black and white AUGs are back in stock
question is do you go fixed scope or rails. And I think if you go AUG it’s only right that you go with the proprietary mags

I don't understand. They can't have the FA trigger pack. Everything else should be the same? They're built on Steyr tooling right? And use FN barrels?
i do know that military arms who wants to like the AUG had some choice words for Steyr’s remake of the original A1 (look up his video of interested) when their 40th anniversary came out a year or so ago. I contemplated getting one. But after his video I decided not too. He had some complaints about the overall integrity of the firearm. Plus they shipped it in some half ass cardboard box. I mean it was a 2k plus anniversary gun and it just seemed like they didn’t really give a fuck

yeah looks like a lot were dumped into the market without a real demand since the gun is rather obscure which I guess in turn brought the price down if it ever was high. And the fact they are Surplus

Even when I had my AUGs back in 2011 and then again a few years ago, I bought real deal Steyr mags and the price didn't make me wince. I'm trying to get loaded up on Chinese flatbacks and those prices ARE making me wince, to put it in perspective.
