RCBS universal. I have the APS bench loader and I loved it, but after about 3 passes the APS strips became unusable and I would spend more time taking it apart and fixing it than seating primers. Maybe if I start finding the preloaded primers I'll buy them and use it again.

I think I have 4 unopened tins of 54r, and a few hundred loose rounds. That's really the main reason I'm considering it. It's TGI. I don't know if it's an imported rifle or a parts kit build. It is build on a made in Romana receiver.

Can you see any damage to the crown? Can you see any build up down there? A little bit of obstruction can cause the gases to exit the barrel unevenly. If the gas isn't coming out equally all the way around the exiting bullet it can/will keyhole. It's got to be something at the end of the barrel.

Take the flash hider off and see if it still does it. I've see a bunch of crud built up inside those things before. Have you tried another brand of ammo?
