Heck if I know. I'm starting to think I have too much junk all together.
But even if I sold it all, I don't know what I'd do with the money... it's just a redneck 401K right now.
Even with the stamps I've paid for, I'd love to see the Hearing Protection Act gain some steam. It's ridiculous at what cans cost now. They should be disposable accessories.
Hummm.... I don't know then. Maybe run a few other brands/bullet weights and see how the brass looks. Also have a look at the barrel/chamber and see if anything looks weird. Just my thoughts-
For what it's worth, that scratch line is about where the base of the bullet sits for 115 and 124 grain bullets. I've noticed my 147's seat a tad deeper.
And that looks like my brass after shooting the G17 with the can on it. It's way dirtier than shooting unsuppressed.
Would that be...
I was thinking about Dobbs specifically- I don't know the guy that well, but paid him for some work on a few things. Last I heard he was working on getting a fireworks manufacturing license. I could be 100% up the wrong tree here, but he might be able to help with your BP testing.
I figured that was what you were looking for... real black powder isn't available as far as I know. You might be able to get a sample from a fireworks manufacturer, maybe.
I've got a Lee .50 cal ball mold you can borrow for a couple months if you want it- PM me. It generally casts close to .500". But it's an aluminum mold, so temperature will definitely affect the dimension of the cast ball.
And a side note, a round ball is the hardest damn thing I've ever...
All economic considerations aside, I can agree with investing in lead. Just make sure you have the beans component on hand first.
In a worst case scenario, food is going to become everyone's first or second major problem.
AR... nothing.
But once upon a time, I was shooting this new-to-me AK and was surprised as hell when three rounds wrapped in plastic fell into my lap at the range. Had I not been sitting at a bench, I might have been hit on the top of my shoe.
