    Who's Going to SHOT?

I was supposed to be working a booth at SHOT this year, for Sentry Solutions. http://www.sentrysolutions.com/ The owner has a booth there every year in the same spot, been in the same spot since SHOT has been in Las Vegas. He was contacted a few months ago by the management at SHOT and told...

    Who's Going to SHOT?

I've been to 10 or so SHOT Shows over the years. Haven't been in 6 years or so. I've had several invites the past few years to come and help folks work their booth, but never took them up on it. Last time SHOT was in Orlando I registered Precision Applications, LLC as an attendees and got...

    Getting a scope level

Honestly not a huge fan of them, but they work sometimes.

    Getting a scope level

I'm happy to help anyone that needs it. Not to throw a wrench into the works, but I also lap my rings. I have all the tools and such needed, if anyone needs assistance.

    Getting a scope level

I've got several gadgets and widgets I use, mainly because not all methods work with all setups. 1. Level and a plumb bob 2. Wheeler Level-Level-Level 3. Arisaka Scope Leveler 2 other methods that involve widgets that I don't know who made them.

    Savage MSR Teaser

From videos I've seen of folks shooting the MSR, looks like a standard steel dust cover to me.

Doesn't look so. From the description, they appear to be Melonite QPQ finished.

Cost on the first 2 don't look too bad. Let's say about $750 and $875 each at your LGS. Comparable to other, established, manufacturers' rifles that are similarly equipped. If the quality is there, then they're a viable option. Seeing more and more QPQ barrels nowadays. Not a good or bad...

I understand ya just fine, for the most part. I have never seen another M4 sold with a plastic dust cover, so I'm it understanding where this is a "considered aftermarket upgrade". Even the bottom dollar DPMS AND S&W Sport II have a cheap-to-make steel dust cover.

Who else sells their aluminum receiver M4's with a plastic dust cover you have to "upgrade" yourself? Again, I don't care much about the dust cover; easily replaced cheap part. Buuuuut.......if they cheaped out there, where else did they cut corners to save a buck?

I'm perfectly aware of that. I've been an "armed U.S. professional" for nearly 28 years now. Some parts are plastic, but some are steel.

Even a budget DPMS or S&W has a steel dust cover.

The steel dust cover is a $7 part from Colt, som I'm sure companies like DPMS sell them for much less. My concern is, if you're gonna cheap out on a $7 retail price part, where else did you cut corners?

    Colt Revolvers.... coming back!

The more I look at that new Cobra the more I'm like "WTF?" What happened to the nice lines Colt revolvers were always known for? That thing looks like a Charter Arms.

    Colt Revolvers.... coming back!

I had a 2.5" Python that was made in 1976, was my EDC for years. Picked up a 3" S&W M-13 and sold the Python. Made a very tidy profit on it.
