    Thinking of SBS’ing a SxS

I’ve got a Stevens 530A 12ga side-by-side. It’s in outstanding shape and I got it for free. I was given it in return for helping a buddy out. Anyways, thinking of paying the $200 and registering it as an SBS, then cutting the barrels down to the forend and reshaping the stock into a pistol...

.300Blk bolt action by Accurate Ordnance

Went to fire it for the first time, couldn’t chamber a round. Found that the extractor had come loose and was floating around the bolt face. Boxed up the bolt and sent it to AO for a Sako-style extractor.

Low Power Variable Optic Course, Aug 18, Aragon GA

Don’t let a lack of gear keep you out of this class. I have several carbines/rifles available for loan, as well as an optic or two. I also have several vendors that give special pricing to my students, if you need to purchase some kit. Semper Fi!

    BCG Color Coating

I’ve got a couple of 1911’s and a couple of Rem870 bolts done in DLC. Very hard, long lasting finish. Attractive, smooth, satiny black. I use Sionics NP3-plated BCG’s in both my primary carbines. It’s a silver gray, but that ain’t why I got them. They clean up much easier than a...

.300Blk bolt action by Accurate Ordnance

Yep. For what I’m going to use it for, the folding feature was more important than the weight.

.300Blk bolt action by Accurate Ordnance

I’ll admit the biggest factor was the price, although I was specifically looking for a folding chassis. It was free.

I wanted it DBM ready, light weight, folding, and adjustable LOP.

.300Blk bolt action by Accurate Ordnance

I wanted the 1-8x for a relatively lightweight 16” build. The weight and bulk of the ATACR pushed me towards the NX8. After I had a chance to run them both side-by-side, I found I preferred the NX8.

.300Blk bolt action by Accurate Ordnance

I’ll stick with 16” on this one. I want to stretch it out further than a 9” will go. Also, my daughter will end up deer hunting with it this year, using 125grn NBT handloads at around 2100fps.

.300Blk bolt action by Accurate Ordnance

Thanks as always to the guys at Accurate Ordnance for the top notch work. 16”, lightweight, .300 Blackout on a Remington Model 7 action. MDT LSS chassis and Timney trigger. Weight as seen is 8lbs 6oz. I’ve got a different buttstock on order, I mounted this one so I could get the Nightforce...

    Nightforce NX8 1-8x24mm FC-MOA

    Nightforce NX8 1-8x24mm FC-MOA

Received it last week. Got it mounted up in a 20MOA Nightforce Unimount last night. The scope weighs 17oz........mount and scope together weigh 24oz, according to my postal scale. Size and weight were the main reasons I went with the NX8 instead of the ATACR 1-8x24mm. I also prefered the...

Any New Good Places to Buy Ammo Online?

The Magtech Mk262 load (77grn OTM load) is amazingly accurate stuff loaded in great brass. Shoots clean and reliable. Other than that load I don’t shoot Magtech, so I cannot comment on their other offerings. For me, the Magtech load shot better than the equivalent Black Hills load, for a lot...

Any New Good Places to Buy Ammo Online?

sgammo.com is running some great sales, I’ve picked up a lot of 5.56, 9mm, and .300Blk. They have Magtech Mk262 cheaper than I’ve ever seen it.
