16”, lightweight, .300 Blackout on a Remington Model 7 action. MDT LSS chassis and Timney trigger. Weight as seen is 8lbs 6oz.

I’ve got a different buttstock on order, I mounted this one so I could get the Nightforce 2.5-10x32mm mounted up.

I’ll be using it for demos for some of the courses at the Guerrilla Sniper class I teach, with my Silencerco Omega.

Damn, that's slick! I love that. Seems like a great set up for guerilla style work. Quiet, agile, more I knock down than a 5.56. I'm interested to see your range report and effective distances with supers/subs. If the stamp wasn't an issue do you think you would go with a shorter barrel? I know the BLK was designed around a 9" barrel.

That's pretty slick.

Can't wait to hear what you think about the NX8, thinking about the ATACR 1-8 myself.

I’ll stick with 16” on this one. I want to stretch it out further than a 9” will go. Also, my daughter will end up deer hunting with it this year, using 125grn NBT handloads at around 2100fps.

I wanted the 1-8x for a relatively lightweight 16” build. The weight and bulk of the ATACR pushed me towards the NX8. After I had a chance to run them both side-by-side, I found I preferred the NX8.

I really want the B&T suppressed 300blk bolt gun, but I cant even come close to justifying the price on it.

Carbon fiber brah
True. I think I'd still go chassis if I were building it to be lightweight and maneuverable. Of course I'd probably build an AR for that role too.... You win. Manners it is.

I’ll admit the biggest factor was the price, although I was specifically looking for a folding chassis. It was free.
I figured. That is about the most cost effective way to get what you wanted. At least that I'm aware of. Even without the free price tag.

Went to fire it for the first time, couldn’t chamber a round. Found that the extractor had come loose and was floating around the bolt face. Boxed up the bolt and sent it to AO for a Sako-style extractor.

That's a no good start!

I’m lookig forward to a range report. I’ve been really wanting to do a .300blk for hunting and “precision” shooting within 200yards.

I've started to hear of a few misses by AO lately. That stinks.

I’m not blaming this on AO. It was a stock action, they didn’t do any work on it, and sometimes it would chamber and sometimes it wouldn’t. It depended on what angle you were holding the rifle out when you chambered it. Perfectly feasible that it didn’t give them any issues.

It would not chamber the first round, but it chambered the second. I thought it was a bad round, but upon inspection I couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Took me a little bit to figure out what the issue was.
