I did shoot off a couple rounds from my old Mossberg shotgun this am
not really shooting at em, just to scare em off
did same thing last week
Shooting around them will do nothing but encourage them to come back. You're habituating them to the sound of gun fire and a lack of mortal danger. Shoot them and leave them where they fall this imprints danger and death on to them and if you don't get them all, you'll at least train them that your yard isn't where they want to be.

Glad the kitties showed up. I figured they had just found a good hiding spot. You could run a couple hot wires around your fence to keep them out of the yard, but that won't prevent them getting the cats when they go roaming. If the dogs aren't wearing a collar, shoot them dead.
