Educated a friend on his hatred of Glock

A year or two ago I stopped to talk to a Macon PD officer who was standing outside of a convenience store. At the time, I was interested in what kind of ammo they were issued (brand- I wanted to carry the same thing). I talked to the guy a minute and then got around to asking him about the...

Educated a friend on his hatred of Glock

I think the argument at the time was to help officers transition from double action revolvers to the new fangled Glocks without having a bunch of ND's... and it appears to have stuck around. Same article I was reading says that the officers have to buy their own back up gun if they want one-...

    Forged Marks on Upper Receiver

I didn't know about half of those upper receiver marks. Keyhole and AH were about the only two I'd heard of. I remember that some Colt uppers have a "C" on the front right above the hole for the gas tube.

    10/22 scope

Bullet Drop Reticle... in other words, the cross hairs with multiple horizontal cross marks that correspond to different yardages (for some particular bullet weight/muzzle velocity).

    Clamp on Suppressor sights

I think I'm solidly in this camp at the moment.

    Clamp on Suppressor sights

Nice little innovation there! I will say it looks really good on paper- I don't know how it would shake out in the real world. Can't see any real problems, but I'm not that smart.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

Done- you're doing me a huge favor anyway, so it's yours.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

It's a new PSA AR10 Gen 1 lower. Can't remember what I paid for the things- I'm remembering $100 or so each? Probably sell it for around a hundred bucks.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

    I'll post some pictures later.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

Well, I have a spare AR10 stripped lower sitting around the house too... you should probably go ahead and buy it from me.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

I'll have to check- it was a 50% off clearance deal at Midway a month or so ago. Bushnell Elite with a Mil-Mil reticle, side adjustable paralax, and I think it's a 4-12 power. Clearly, I was paying close attention to the specs. At the time, I remember thinking that it would work well on most...

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

Now go buy one- do it before I'm home later and the kids are in bed. I'll likely order one tonight if they're still in stock. I sold that 686+ and have gun money laying around at the moment.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

Dang that's nice... I can't buy any more scopes because they're a good price. I've got this new Bushnell sitting in the box at home and I've been mentally fitting it on a new Ruger 22, now a CZ American, and an AR10. That reminds me- I'm banning myself from the PSA website until 9:00pm...

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

Nice- I've shot a few CZ's that were incredible rifles. Never owned one- I'd have to give the CZ some serious consideration.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

I had to go look up some specs on this thing- MSRP at $499, so yeah- I think you're pretty close with the $400 estimate. Now I've got to go see what a similar CZ would run.

    New Ruger American Rimfire Target

I agree with you on the cost comparison- and with the nice laminate stock, CHF barrel, etc., I'm thinking this one is at least $300. I'll be very interested to see it come to market. I need a bolt action .22 for target shooting.

But you can always fold out the spike bayonet to finish off your deer!

Econ Sears is 'set to sink'

I don't use most of my hand tools on a day to day basis- but when I need them to work, I do expect them to be up to the job. Most of the combination wrenches I have are Craftsman with some other stuff mixed in. No failures to speak of, but I did buy the dang things (at least partially) because...

Econ Sears is 'set to sink'

I'm curious ( and too lazy to Google) if Sioux air tools are on the same list.

Econ Sears is 'set to sink'

Apparently I could have saved a lot of money by buying Harbor Freight and expecting the tool to last for exactly one job. I'll admit my brother in law wins this round.
