Funny you say that, because when I took my Gen 4 G17 out of the box a few days ago, I went from "I don't care if I sell this one" to "gotta keep it" pretty fast.

You know, I've always heard the argument for/against the finger grooves... They've never bother me at all. Of course, I have zero trigger time with a Gen 1/Gen 2, so all I've ever known were the grooved grips.

I'm not well informed- I'll definitely admit that. I thought the advertisers were upset that their products were being shown on a gun channel- but I have zero evidence to back that up.

I was actually surprised too. I have a few more brands of GI mags around here- I intended to weigh several different manufacturer's mags for comparison, but the family required attention.

Heck, for that matter, I wouldn't mind all my bags going to the 'baggage office' if they'll check ID to be sure the right person it taking it home. I will also drive for up to two days before I get on an airplane again.

I've passed on deals that "seemed too good to be true" for this very reason. To me at least, it's not worth the risk.

Looking forward to the report- I recently had my own favorite carbine fail to go into battery at a bowling pin shoot. Of course, I hadn't cleaned it (on purpose) for at least 400 rounds. Found the failure point- it wouldn't strip a round off the mag and go into battery.
