    ATN Xsight II

BAE... I can't imagine what that thing will cost. I'm guessing somewhere above Honda, but probably a little under Cadillac. EDIT: This just reminded me... I thought BAE changed their name to Terma. You know, since British Aerospace Engineering is really the ultimate oxymoron.

    ATN Xsight II

I agree... Now, if somebody would combine FLIR and NV into a single scope, I'd be rolling pennies to buy it. I bought a cheap used ATN handheld monocular- it's about the size of a VCR from 1985... it has a built in IR illuminator (Gen 1 of course) and works OK so long as the IR is turned on- I...

    ATN Xsight II

I've looked at several NV scopes before, and kind of decided that I need a monocular... PVS14... which is just too dang expensive. Anyway, no first hand experience, but these reviews seem pretty good...

    AR-9

I don't have any experience with the QC10 lower, but I do like the looks of the NFA dedicated Glock mag lower I've got- of course, it's still sitting in a box, untouched. I have no idea if the thing works or not- but the machining and finish look very good. I built my AR9 with a 4" barrel...

    JP Buffer Alternative

Problem is the Ergo stock and tube are one piece.

    JP Buffer Alternative

I really like everything I've seen on the A5 stock/buffer/spring... but I think I like the Ergo stock too much to change it out. I haven't lost a whisker to it yet.

    JP Buffer Alternative

Hell, I was holding the retainer down with a punch just to get it in- I can bet it's a PITA to get out.

    JP Buffer Alternative

I hope to give the JP a good run this weekend. I've never had problems with bolt bounce or any other cycling issues (aside from being extremely dirty at one point). The JP spring doesn't stick out any more than a standard buffer- I'm only saying that because I didn't take out the buffer...

    Compatibility

Not being an AK person, I hear 7.62 and all I can think about is .308 Win.

Ditto... me too... I'll keep my bad advice to myself ;)

Oh- in that case, I could be wrong... Guess we need some caliber clarification @Sustainable

Not to contradict you... but I don't think you can use a .308 Lower on a 5.56 Upper.... the lower is a good bit longer (distance between take down pins). I have both at home and can take a picture later.

    JP Buffer Alternative

Assuming it's like the JP, about a 2" long piece of plastic tube.

    JP Buffer Alternative

It's not gritty, just smooth. And quiet- none of the grinding/scratching noise when operating the charging handle.

    JP Buffer Alternative

If it's well made and works, I'd be in for one. The difference in feel is pretty incredible. And those appear to be about 1/2 the cost of the JP.

    JP Buffer Alternative

First time I've seen one- but it looks promising (for what that's worth). I recently put a JP silent spring into my carbine... wow what a difference. Granted, I've only cycled it by hand at this point. I'm planning to give it a good run at the range this weekend to be sure it's working...

Did you mean to do that?

Who the hell does "orientation to a new pistol" with rounds in the thing? And the damn hammer cocked? I hope it was his first day.

Recipe Anybody have an Instant Pot?

And the most amazing thing to me is the cook times- food is ready fast. That's a pressure cooker for ya.

Recipe Anybody have an Instant Pot?

Mom has one of those- it cooks some good food! Beef roast with a can of consume and some vegetables... best pot roast I've eaten.

    Buffer Tube Hone?

I've used the same type of hone in the lathe before. I want really impressed with it, but I wasn't exactly using it for its intended purpose either. I think the right answer is to switch out the tubes on the rifles that feel gritty.
