The Tikka action is one of the slickest I've ever used- and the out of the box trigger is really good too. I also really like the contours of the stock... and the from-the-factory detachable magazine is a nice feature too. I need to take a picture of a couple targets when I get home later.

Mine has a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 on it... put it on a rest or bipod and it will go exactly where you point it :) I really like that rifle. I wish the magazines were either cheaper, or I had an aftermarket option.

If you could live with .223, I have a Rem 700 that I've been thinking about selling (not a 600 yard caliber though). If you could live with .22-250, I have a Tikka T3 Varmit that I've semi-considered selling (I've shot it out to 500 yards with very good results). Now- if I were building a...

I could find one in stock as of Friday that was priced below MSRP... It's a HK SP5K. I decided to go ahead and order it (even though I was still selling guns to pay for it) because with my luck, I'd finally raise the money and they'd be out of stock everywhere. Since then, I've sold dang near...

...but of course! I'm going to have to figure out the barrel thread problem later- read: I'm going to spend another $600 on a gunsmith to rebarrel it with a threaded/3 lug HK barrel.

Yeah- the RMR is too small for the rail setup. I'll have to get the thing in hand and see what looks like it will work with the factory sights/rail.

I was thinking Aimpoint or Trijicon RMR type sights... I don't know jack about the specs on them yet though- I like the "heads up" or whatever it's called style of the RMR instead of being a tube like the Aimpoint.

The smaller dots are definitely better- I had a 4MOA before and couldn't shoot it for crap on my carbine at 100 yards.

Ok... the next thread is going to be about what optic you'd used on a HK SP5K... Apparently I've sold a few hundred dollars worth of stuff beyond the cost of the pistol. So, now on to a few mags and accessories.

Thanks for keeping an eye out... That's a little better price. Of course, I feel like I'm paying $9 for the metal and paint, and about $57 for the letters "HK" stamped on the bottom.

So I know about gun broker and HK Parts .net... where are there any good deals on HK mags? I've seen the POF mags on atlanticfirearms.com for $60 per two pack, but I have not seen real HK mags for less than about $75 per mag. Any advice is greatly appreciated-

I had the same thought process... this is the reason the AR9's aren't the subgun that I want. And you really do need an UMP- start a thread and let us talk you into it.
