How would someone normally get this promotion?

Some were born with different equipment than you and I, and some used networking skills like you mentioned. By networking, I mean working the system and kissing ass. Basically a good many of these people are coached on what to say during the interview process, which is mainly lies. I'm not willing to do any of the above.

Wasn't tying to start a gripe thread, was really just mentioning something a prior post got me thinking about...

Don’t open it up! Fuck poly mags just roll tight ass steelies or force polys in there they’ll shave down

That's what I'm saying. There is literally ZERO mag wobble with steel mags in there. I'm happy with it the way it is.

@Jake there's a reason I never fucked with the magwell. Steelies are the best overall mag type.

I'm not touching it, lol. I'm more than happy with the fit on the magwell how it is now. I'm actually kinda impressed with how well the monkeys at Century managed to fit this thing, whether it was intentional or not, lol.

Here's a pic with a Romy mag inserted. I'm pretty sure I could open up the wagwell a little bit to get plastic mags to fit, but I'm not really too worried about it right now.

That looks badass to me! I only filed on one magwell, my AMD65 and only because even some surplus steels wouldn't insert. I took off the bare minimum.

I'm just trying to convince you that it's completely ok to take a promotion you are qualified for. Someone will get that promotion and it might as well be you.

Mag well looks good and straight. Try bakes first. If they do not fit, Maybe, maybe file a bit on the left front side of the magwell. Looks like mag well touches the metal mag there. But the current cut is straighter than on many WASRs I have seen. I would file on it only if Bakelites do not fit.

I've got an opportunity for an "in" on the next round of promotions, but it would basically be nepotism. I can't stand others that have advanced by that method so I'm not going to do it. But it sucks when the big guy comes to me (I've known him for years) and says get me a copy of your resume so we can make sure you get moved up. It's $1/hour raise. I'd like to have it but not like this.
Are you related to him? If not, them it's not nepotism.
