In the last 10-20years, at least 50% of products put out by Ruger, Remington, S&W, and several other "reputable" American gunmakers has been shit.
Remington still has a few lines of good ammo and their top of the line rifles are good (but savage and others have better options at comparable or lower prices)
Ruger has a caliber that's noteworthy and a few revolvers that are good.
S&W has great revolvers.
That's about it.

Worst guns I've ever owned were:
Remington 742 jam master (long barrel)
Smith and Wesson Sigma (1st gen gray)
Walther P22
And any Ruger 22/45 that I have to clean. Other than that, I only buy what I like to shoot.

I agree that the S&W 380 is one of the worst pistols. The laser would cut off and on while shooting and trigger was horrible. I know it is just a belly gun but yuck.

I owned FN 5.7 and it was very nice but over priced. I wanted a PS90 but ended up with a AR57 upper which is a great compromise.

Sometimes the ammo makes a big difference on whether a gun is jam o magic. Tula is great for AKS and SKSs but the coating causes problems in anything with tight chamber tolerances.

I also didn't like my Marlin 25MN. An extractor that's just a folded over piece of metal...no thanks.

C'mon man, the most used rifle in the world is essentially just a piece of folded over metal and it also conveniently known for its reliability...

Yeah that's fine for a receiver, but that doesn't cut the mustard for an extractor.
