    Teach me about reloading..

If you're looking for good volume ammo and not some crazy bullseye match load look at Montana Gold, Precision Delta, Berry's Mfg. Bayou Bullets, or Extreme. I personally love MG bullets. These are the top brands in the USPSA world...and let me tell you, that crowd does som serious volume...

    Ohio Ccw Reciprocity States

Remember, in States with reciprocity you must follow the laws of that state in regards to carrying. Not usually any major differences, but definitely want to read through them for each state you'll be carrying in.

Gun Show Tomorrow. What To Buy Next..

The shows I've been to lately, it's almost all dealers anyway with the same prices as the stores. It seems like more and more the days of the great gun show deals are gone. Not near as many private sellers as there used to be.

    Best Home Protection Handguns?

I keep a G42 in the bedroom for the wife when I'm gone. My G19 is right there every night with me. Was never a fan of long guns for home defense. Too unweildly for me. Lots of corners to clear in a house. Add to that a shotguns pattern isn't big enough to reduce the need to aim over a handgun at...

Putting A Tracer Round In Every 10-15 Bullets?

They're a good time. They burn hot. There is one less shanty on Ft. Benning courtesy of one of my SAW gunners and his 4:1 mix.....burned it like paper. lol. Range Control wasn't a big fan of ours that day....and yes, it was completely unintentional!

Best Type Of Sig To Buy?

I'd have to go with the P320. I am not a fan of DA/SA triggers. In my limited experience shooting the 320 it was smooth with a great trigger. I could never understand the price tag of a Sig....I could buy 2 glocks and be ready to go! But what can I say.....I'm a Glock guy.

    Everyday Carry Problems

So much of it depends on clothing choices, holster selection, and gun choice. The 5.7 is a bit large for a carry gun (in my opinion, to each his own) and has a lot of sharp edges to snag. As you noticed, Glock is pretty smooth and sleek for an easy carry. I noticed the adjustable sights on my...

    Anyone Use A Shoulder Holster?

I 2nd trying appendix before jumping straight to shoulder. While I have never used one, as an instructor I see numerous problems in regards to an effective draw if the day ever comes you needed to use it (this is why I've never used one). I know John McClain makes it look good.....but I'd go...

Putting A Tracer Round In Every 10-15 Bullets?

I sure have. My first two mags were 100% tracers. Best way for me to direct fires with limited comms. Of course this was during combat operations in Iraq.....never saw much need for them in civilian life. They're cool, but tough to justify the money.

    Handgun Competition....are You Doing It?

Just curious how many of you are competitive handgun shooters and in what disciplines? What made you chose said discipline and what kind of equipment are you using? Personally, I have been shooting US Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) competition for more than 10 years, although not as...

Steel cased ammo in your ar/ak builds

Shawn pretty much hit it on the head. The lacquer is the issue when it gets hot. I've had the most problem with Wolf on this. I will say I have shot probably thousands of rounds of Tula .223 without problems. I believe they use a polymer coating as does some of the newer wolf. Steel case...

Whats Your Gotta Have Survival Firearm!

The Savage 24 series is most commonly seen in a .22LR over .410 configuration. However they made everything from .22mag/.410; .22mag/20ga; 30-30win/12ga, 22Hornet/20ga, and a a few others as well. They recently released a updated model with a synthetic stock called the Savage 42 which is...

Whats Your Gotta Have Survival Firearm!

If I was in a true survival situation, not a zombie apocalypse or Red Dawn scenario, it is more about food than tactical or defensive fires. Flexibility and reliability are key. My go to survival gun sits in my safe. Savage 24F. .223Rem/12ga. combination gun. Using sub-cal conversions and...

What Age Were You When You Fired Your First Firearm?

5 years old. It was a single shot H&R 12ga. My dad had to help me hold it up, but I hit the first clay pigeon I ever shot at!

Flashlights....is It Part Of Your Edc? If So, What Kind Is It?

Someone's "EDC" items are different from person to person based on their lifestyle, work, dress requirements, etc. I think we can all agree that gun, knife, and spare mag are probably on every list. I'm curious how many have a flashlight on that list? Not just the million lumens super...

    Ohio Open Carry Fans?

I think I've open carried once in my entire life. Grabbed lunch at my hometown hole in the wall diner during a handgun level 1 class. They didn't even bat an eye. That said, as a general statement I love the fact that Open Carry is legal in Ohio and feel that it always should be. However...

    H.b. 235

While I agree with the waiving of fees, I don't necessarily agree that evidence of service is proof of competency. As a Veteran and current firearms instructor I can tell you first hand that the military does a extremely poor job of training soldier on the M9. SOCOM units aside, MP's get more...

Ar15 Pistols....do They Really Make Sense?

Sure can. I run a Noveske KX3 Flaming Pig, but have a SilencerCo Trifecta I can mount to run my suppressor. The KX3 is awesome for short barrels as it directs most of the sound and gas pressure down range instead of feeling and hearing it to the sides. The guy shooting next to you will...
