Is your first aid kit prepared?

They could have cut strips off of one of the towels and come up with a tourniquet in short order. Regardless, you bring up an excellent point about first aid kits and being prepared for the environment around you. I recently started a kit for the car. Basically focusing on cleaning minor cuts...

    Learn me on some Packs/bags

I realize this is kind of an old thread, but I will say The Yukon Tactical sling bag I bought off of Woot has held up pretty well. I bought it just to see if I'd like the sling style bags- and they're not for me. However, the construction of the Yukon Tactical bag is pretty good for $20. I...

    Public toilets?

Something with thorns! I'm not going to spell this right but mom has a few bushes called hicanthia. Those thorns are long and like needles.

God I loved that show growing up. Later I found out what a liberal Richard dean Anderson was.

How To Obtain NFA Items Legally

Factory SBRs wait at the dealer if you're buying it assembled, i.e. ready to go, from the store. If you are the one building it then what NWS said.

    Boy Scouts now using Suppressors

Absolutely. If 'silencers' had been called 'hearing safety devices' from the beginning, I bet they would be much more readily available today.

    Public toilets?

You're troop was way funner than my troop. But I can set a broken arm, tie you up, and if necessary set you on fire using a single match and the materials available around me. Oh yeah- and I can pitch a tent. And I can also predict when the bitching will start on a 10 mile hike. However...

    What the hell

Interested in a range report for sure- I was really between that CZ, the MPX, and an AR in 9mm. Ended up with the boring choice out of the three. Haven't actually shot it yet either.

    School me on barrel erosion

Ah- gotcha. The "lucky gunner" name rings a bell. My selective memory stuck with the gas blow by and didn't pick up on the jacket material.

Traveling Across the Country with Guns

Good advice on the stickers- really applies all the time in my opinion. EDIT... and to take it one step further, get a Hillary 2016 decal- just tape it on temporarily :)

Traveling Across the Country with Guns

That's how I've traveled for competitions before. I make sure the obvious looking heavy stuff is covered by at least a beach towel- just in case someone in the parking lot is interested in what's left in the trunk (while unloading for the night). The guns go in the room.

    Looking at the Ammo Plant

I bought a used Dillon 550B through the local CU Bulletin- it's an incredibly smooth running machine. However, I have not used the Hornady ammo plant. I will say my 550B turns out 400 rounds an hour and I don't feel like I'm rushing in any way. I could easily run 500 to 600 per hour if I felt...

Traveling Across the Country with Guns

Personally, I'd probably just keep the car locked when I'm not driving it. Although that's a long drive and I assume you'd have to spend at least one night on the road? I'd bring the soft cases inside with me, but leave the ammo (because it looks heavy!).

    School me on barrel erosion

I think this goes back to the barrel wear testing someone did to compare Wolf vs. "good" brass cased ammo. I remember one of the theories as to why the Wolf ammo was harder on the barrel involved the variance in projectile diameter. The argument was that smaller projectiles allowed hot gas to...
