The ones I saw fail in person all had the same problem- no firing pin return spring. The firing pin would slip forward and stick out of the frame and it would catch on the rim of the brass, locking up the cylinder.
Me too... My own experience with Taurus revolvers is a sample size of three- all belonging to friends. During range trips with me, all three locked up and would no longer operate. Like, they had to take home a loaded revolver with the cylinder frozen in place.
Hey Taurus,
While you're at it, could you develop a line of buggy whips and goat carts? I mean, if you're going to get into manufacturing something late, do it with some style.
Sincerely,
Goat cart consumer
It appears that on the Glock website, they refer to this particular G17 as a "G17 FS" and does indeed have the front serrations.
I didn't really want to sell that G17 Gen 4, but I did... now I might have to get rid of something else to buy another one with the "FS" slide.
If anybody can find a...
Wait- did they seriously use a gas tube that was too long? I see there are no taper pins.... but for the love of GOD WHY?? If you aren't going to do it right, leave it at home and bring a poster.
Interesting story... one of Dad's good friends is a retired machinist who has a hell of a garage shop. He built a bench top rail gun- which he couldn't get to shoot well.
They were at the range and I think it was Dad that hung a 20 pound bag of lead shot over the middle of the barrel, then...
My loads- I couldn't tell you exactly what it was at the time, but likely a 52 grain BTHP (probably Hornady Match or SMK's) and probably worked up to chrono around 3100 FPS. That gun seemed to like them in that range.
I've heard of Cool Acres, but never gone to shoot there. If I can work it in around my kids' schedules, I'd like to go. If we can get some folks together, y'all drive to Macon and I'll drive us the rest of the way. I've got room for a few in the car.
I wouldn't be concerned too much- I think it's still out shooting me too. I got the loads it likes down pat, but I still can't shoot it as well as I've seen it shot from a bench rest/rigid mount.
And that wasn't the target I was looking for... the one i was trying to find had load data written on it- and was literally ragged holes. IMR 4046 was the powder if I'm remembering right.
Ok- this was a target i shot awhile back- I think I was testing overall length. The bottom right target (1" spots by the way) has 3 off target wen I was checking the scope for that load.
Overall, not bad. This was the Tikka T3 Varmit in 22-250 at 100 yards (the range was closer to 115...
