For what it's worth, I like my MK III Lite (factory thread)... I would have had a MK II threaded and the front sight moved back, but damn it's expensive (way not VQ expensive, but still cost more than the new MK III Lite). Best upgrade for the MK III Lite is a Volquartsen sear and hammer. Huge...

I would say that it has little to do with skill level and more to do with tools... Dang near everything on that table just involved pushing wood in a straight line along a tool's fence. Table saw, shaper table, and a few hand tools.
