Still trying to find a lease somewhere around here. If I can't find a good lease I'm going to go hunting on a friend's property in Fairburn. Only downside to that is I'll only have 20 acres to hunt on. Not a lot of big bucks on the property but that's okay because I'm more of a meat hunter and there are plenty of good size does.

See if you can find the "Green Giant" variety of arbor vita. They will grow much faster and they are less prone to disease than other varieties of leyland cypress/arbor vita.

I learned two things in the scouts:

1. first aid
2. How to roll a joint.

You're troop was way funner than my troop. But I can set a broken arm, tie you up, and if necessary set you on fire using a single match and the materials available around me.

Oh yeah- and I can pitch a tent. And I can also predict when the bitching will start on a 10 mile hike. However, Life Scout is as far as I got.

I was lucky to be in a great troop. The first scout Master I had was a ranger in Vietnam and wouldn't let us bitch out on anything. We went backpacking every month rain or shine, we went out during tornado warnings, freeze and snow conditions, etc...... The only times we didn't backpack was when we were in canoes or shooting. We did our annual chili cook off 3 miles from the cars so we had to carry it all in, we back packed in our climbing stuff when we went climbing. Those were some of my happiest moments.
