Sounds to me like he was wanting her back and in his mind, the new baby puts a hurt on his plans. Maybe in 2 weeks he will have changed his tune.

Also, if I have a problem with someone, I'm not going to say, "See you in 2 weeks!"

So I'm not down playing it, you know the guy...is he all talk? He should also take into consideration who he's (trying to) deal with. If he's sized you up and smart about it, he may have 2nd thoughts.
