I bug out of my house because the neighborhood poses too many threats, reduced visibility and only temporary resources; I then bug-in to the in-laws place out in BFE where there is land to hunt, etc (then I bug out of my mind because I've chosen to be with the in-laws)

right now...I wish I could bug in but think I live on the fringes of Cobb Co enough to bug out safely if possible. I would try and make it to my parents place in the mountains of VA. Once I get the auxilary tank installed in my diesel truck I could make it there in one go and not have to stop.

Bugging in in my neighborhood is just too problematic. Too many schlubs that have nothing in their houses that will become desperate very quickly.

Bugging in to start with. Then when resources run out, I will venture out. I would love to get to my aunt's place in Alabama as there is 125 acres with housing, a well, a large creek and abundant game. It is very remote and not easily accessible. They keep the road in rough to deter people joy riding in.

Bugging out means you have left the security of your home. Bug in for as long as possible before leaving your security net.

Prep water, food, security. In that order

I agree. I'm not leaving my house unless absolutely necessary. you have cover, dry place. you're somewhat safe. at least a lot more than sleeping outside. you can move all food, water, ammo and guns into one room. basically leaving the rest of the house with just useless furniture that you might end up burning to stay warm if you don't stock up on wood.
if I have to leave I could go to a couple of different places. my hunting property, friends hunting property, or family property on hartwell. only problem, those are far away even by car. 2hrs. walking that would be a bitch.
I'm the first house in my neighborhood so I don't know a lot of people in my subdivision. only 45 houses. I'm sure most are like the rest of the sheep.

Gonna go out like the Alamo. To the end I will fight. Talking with few neighbors about banding together and deciding who to eat first.

But hopefully I'll be in my new house, if I have to bug in. There is a lake in the back yard, basement w/ dirt on 3 sides and 4000 square feet of space overall. I'm staying put. And I dont have any place to bug out to anyway...

Bugging in, already have plans in place to become the Commandant of my subdivision, then branching out to take over all the water and resources for several square miles.

I'm staying right here. Creeks for water, and more ammo than I know what to do with. :thumb:
