The main job of the gun is to convince me that the Glock is worth owning and using for Carry and Range.

I think that the G19 is the sweet spot for what you need. The G17 is significantly larger and only nets 2 more rounds. I prefer the Gen 4 models because you can add various sized backstraps to adjust the grip. If it has to be a .45 I'd go with a G3oS.

Also, on the .45 and 10 mm compacts(29 and 30), they are called subcompacts but are much closer in size to the 19 than a 26.

I really like Glocks a lot, and have for a long time. That being said, the .45s and 10mms are BIG. If you think you want one I would at least go fondle one in a store before buying.

If you come to the gun cleaning party at truprep I'm sure there will be a few glocks you can fondle.

Look at the 37 or 36 which is .45 GAP similar in size to the 21.

I do want to avoid adding another round, so no 45 gap or .40

Easily my biggest disappointment with Glock - that they chose to do their own round rather than building a G19 sized .45

The 30S fits in my 19 kydex holster.
I've heard that from other folks as well. It's just like you mentioned about the G17 vs the G21/G20 - The G19 and G30S just don't feel the same. I wanted to pick up that one you had for sale so I could give it another chance.

The 30s frame is wider even though the slides are identically sized. Since the retention in a holster comes from the trigger guard, your 30s fitting in a 19 holster confuses me lol

Confusion is good. Enjoy it.

I loved both xdm's I owned. I'll probably buy another before the year is over. I treated them like ho's and they never failed me.

My first pistol was an XDM and I always thought I was a horrible shot until the first time I shot a 1911, a springer loaded in fact.

My 1911 obsession has just started. I'm a great shot with either though. o_o
