Well, my little Silencerco Sparrow should be here literally this week so naturally, I am already looking for my next one. I think am really set on the Silencerco Osprey 9 as it will be used on my USP 9, My Glocks and my soon to be Sig..... All 9mm which is what I shoot mostly anyways.
My question is, should I consider a multi caliber can (Osprey 45) so I could shoot 9 and 45 out of it or stick with the 9mm can? I have read that the Osprey 9 is a little quieter than the Osprey 45 while shooting 9 through it. i also might be interested in hearing what other cans I should look at. Thanks Guys!

There is no "right answer here", its fairly debated.

If you really don't think you'll launch much 45 , then get the Osprey 9. The reason being is not for db's, but instead for the shorter length. 45 cans are longer and the length can be a pain when it comes to fitting a suppressed set up in your bedside table, but also for the simple weight and length that can effect your shooting.

The other option is to get the Osprey 45 and purchase the 9mm endcap for it, so you can save a few db's when shooting 9mm.

Definitely go multi caliber on all cans. You cannot tell a difference in sound. No sense in spending $200 + the can to be stuck with one caliber.

Agreed.

Also, why an Osprey? It's old tech. Get an Octane.

Point taken. It's not so much that, as it is that the Octane is a newer product and one could assume that newer suppression designs and techniques as well as manufacturing processes were employed in its design. That and you don't have to clock it and lock it like you do with the Osprey.

Next question.... Would my LW Champion Operator make a better host or a HK45? I love the 1911 but have been on a serious HK kick lately. Anyone out there have experience with either/both?

I have a friend with the .45 HK that is supressed. With 230 grain target loads, the greatest noise is from the projectile striking the target. He uses bullseye powder and a plated projectile at about 725 to 750 fps.
