I don't think anyone is preaching "the sky is falling". We're saying if you are in the market to buy a silencer, don't wait for a bill to pass into law...

I haven't taken any of your comments this way, but industry wide some companies are taking this kind of approach. Reading a some of the Facebook posts it smacks of the "buy an AR before they are banned" mentality. If there are any companies out actually not supporting the legislation (I haven't seen it) in order to protect their own business, that would be very disappointing.

For example it passes in say September but doesn't go into effect till January. If you buy in Sept but have to wait 8 months for the paperwork it would suck when the law has passed to get rid of the wait.

I don't think it will pass the first 100 days but I suspect it will in his first year.
For what it's worth, you can cancel a transfer.

So say I form 3 today and form 4 in 30 days then in 6 months the HPA is passed. Do I get my $200 back and get my can or am I stuck waiting another 6 months for my approval while everyone else is in stores buying same day...?

EDIT: This was answered already. Ignore please...

If you start the process now, I'll swear on the foreskin of baby jesus that you'll have your can before any legislation becomes law. Looking at averages, let's say this thing sails through and both houses pass it with very little drama. Ok, so it's passed on January 1, 2018 and becomes law July 1, 2018. That's still a year and a half from today if things go more smoothly than they ever do.
finally a good point from Laufen that I agree with. lets say you are waiting for this unicorn to pass and it doesnt which is more likely. how far behind in the process will you be then? do it now if you are thinking about getting one so your not cussing the wait time when it doesnt pass.

If you cancel a transfer you get your money back. I have canceled both a form 1 and a form 4 in the past.

114th CONGRESS

I'm not going to lie, when I first heard about HPA, and after Trump got elected. I was in the camp of "wait until it passes." But as I kept thinking about it, I realized I'd be more likely to get a handy from Sasquatch then our federal gov, give up that sweet, sweet taxation. I've heard numerous people say "Ah just wait." Fuck that, if I'm going to wait on something I'd like to go ahead and get a suppressor on the way. The $200 stamp at least guarantees that there will be a suppressor with my name on it.

Rockdale wouldn't do my fingerprints because I don't live there(I own a business there). Walton county referred me to the UPS store in Grayson. Called them and they have no idea about ATF stuff and from what I gather the service they offer will not meet the ATF requirement. No one can answer me as to whether the kiosks can be used to do the prints for a can you bought somehwere else.

This may be my last stamp unless hpa passes. Fuck Obama and fuck this bullshit.

The .22lr scare should be enough of an example to get people off of their collective butts...and the run on suppressors will probably be a lot "worse". I can't imagine anyone buying fewer than 2 cans, and production just ainta gonna keep pace.

It will catch up and when it does prices will go down to about %60 of what it was prior to HPA well if it goes through. I for one am not worried.
