@Fast306stang be mindful on the new growth on those Crape Myrtle's to watch for aphids. They usually hang out on the underside the leaves and they will leave an excretion that will turn black(sooty mold). It will make the tree look like shit and when it rains it will stain whatever is underneath it.

Also, if you're gonna prune them every year the best time to do it is around March.

You're acting like I actually LIKE these trees

It’s called crape murder for a reason. But honestly, parks guys have straight butchered some of ours, always come back looking decent.

I've learned that (generally speaking) anything you want to kill forever, will ALWAYS come back. So I don't worry about butchering anything bc it ALWAYS grows back given enough time.

How’s them front hedges doing at the old house?

Need trimming I believe. The house has been empty since December, the owner in New York has been having the inside all remodeled but has neglected the yard. Some of the weeds were about 4' tall before 2 or 3 neighbors cut the yard. There were 6 or 7 houses for sale on the street at the time so I think they decided to do it themselves so they could help sell their houses. In the 11 years we lived there, I only saw 4 houses up for sale. Glad we got out when we did, however Zillow says the house is worth $22K more than we sold it for....
