    Argentine Mauser Model 1891

In the 1920's and 30's, old military firearms were favored by European custom rifle builders for use for building light weight mountain and "stalking" rifles. In America, back in the 1950s and early 60s if you looked in a Montgomery Ward Catalog or Sears, you might find an Outstanding Value...

    Ruger Mark II

I was out making the round this afternoon with a fellow Range Rat and we went to a pawn shop in downtown Columbia. I usually avoid these places like the plague. The buy a used gun for peanuts then try to charge MRSP. This one was run by an Old Retired USAF Pilot and his son. His wife's a Big Wig...

    Ruger Mark II

A friend called me on Wednesday and wanted to make the rounds, so off we went. At a local Lawmen’s, there she was. Sitting on the bottom shelf at the far right was a familiar silhouette. I’d recognize those Bolt Ears, those grips and that long tapered barrel anywhere. It was a Ruger Mark II...

    Talking the talk

Well put. I can think of several issues in our own state that voters voted down or voted approval for in elections that the politician keeping trying to shove down our throats anyway by an amendment to a bill or a ruling by the Attorney Generals' Office. The county just passed a 1% sales tax...

    Extended thumb safety

I've carried my Kimber Super Carry Pro in a Galco Avenger and never found the safety wandering. But I'd say the modification could bear some watching. For carry in the woods or real wilderness I prefer a revolver in a shoulder holster. When it comes to BUGS, I prefer the non-safety kind. You...

    Extended thumb safety

Great idea. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you could only use the "Off Hand" it would be nice.

AR-15 documentary airing in 15 minutes!

I watched it last night again, after I recorded it to a dvd so I could fast forward through the commercials. If you haven't seen it yet check it out. Keep in mind that it is CNBC so don't get your feelings hurt. It's sort a good look at both side of the issue. It did a good job of showing that...

Raven Arms model MP-25 - Mr. Saturday Night Special's first design

I glad you found it interesting. I own a couple of stacks or two of pistols and revolvers and like to tinker around with them. I got into the habit of taking digital photographs which make it a lot easier to get things back in the right place and order. Most instruction manuals describe how to...

    Lawmakers to stop gov. hoarding!

A good read. Thanks for posting. Loads of mistrust abounds today for good reason. Transparency in government is a mythology. Back in the day, Lenin jailed loads of his critics but, with some newspapers he opted to gain control of the paper mills. Like all collective thinkers he closed the loop.

    Lawmakers to stop gov. hoarding!

The Main Stream Media knows it's place. That's why you see so many Journalists, adding Activist to their titles. Hollywood Celebratory figures now laud themselves as Actor/Activist. Any Marxist inspired society has an elite ruling class which parasitically enriches itself off of whatever is...

Raven Arms model MP-25 - Mr. Saturday Night Special's first design

Here’s a Cobra 380, Ruger LCP 380 and the Raven MP-25. I got this one for $150., including taxes. A few years back I was looking for a BUG for my Sig P-239. So I made the rounds. I decided to get a Ruger LCP and still carry it. Years before the LCP came along Raven was cleaning up as people...

Raven Arms model MP-25 - Mr. Saturday Night Special's first design

After I reassembled the Raven from her first cleaning, the safety was really stiff. So I disassembled it again, only further. Left click with the mouse to enlarge photo. Looking things over and after some reading had at it. Like the COBRA 380 reassembly centers around the Sear Assembly. Place...

    What's for supper?

LOL. I stopped by a restaurant this afternoon and had a Rib Eye Sandwich, with French Fries. I started with a nice Chef Salad with French Dressing. A great shot of Canadian Club. on the rocks with 7UP, and a lemon twist aided the festivities. I used to drink it neat, but those days are long gone.

Slow day today, but there was a Gun Show at the National Guard Armory. So a friend and I went off to see what was doing. Not a lot of WWII weapons, ammunition or collectable stuff. No ammo for the Japanese Nambu Type 94 8 mm but I did get a line on where to get some. Loads of hunting rifles...

Nambu Type 94 - reminds me of a Ruger

LOL. Do little reading guys. Here’s a brief history on the Nambu, the Ruger Standard, the Luger and also Colt (Woodsman) all which played a part in Strum & Ruger getting it all lined out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nambu_pistol First the Japanese Nambu...

Nambu Type 94 - reminds me of a Ruger

I'm going to a gun show this weekend and will be checking to see if I cam get some for it. But the Japanese Military issued orders to their folks not to chamber a round until they were ready to fire the weapon. It seems that merely flipping the safety to off or fire position would cause this...

Nambu Type 94 - reminds me of a Ruger

Nambu Pistols came in Types and different sizes. Type 14s were bigger, Type 94, Hamada Nambu and the Baby Nambu's were smaller. The older the manufacture date the more expensive they get. Baby Nambus are really hard to find. Depending on the condition and shape they are in $1,500 to $4,500...
