Same here, LC9 IWB again......didn't shoot it today, but did shoot a few others. MkII, 10/22, Marlin .22, Dan Wesson .357, a couple of problematic Jennings .22's, and a Mosin Nagant to round things off. A good day all around.
Skip-thanks for posting that link. Interesting and potentially explosive situation that could have ended badly. These kind of scenarios are thought provoking and help to make us more informed. I hope never to be in a situation where I need to sort out who's the good guy/bad guy, as it may not...
Wow! Didn't realize that airguns had evolved that far! Thanks for the link, very interesting. I have a couple of cheap .177 cal springers that are fun to shoot......in fact I'll be messing around with one today as it needs the scope adjusted. And the weather here is finally decent.
I saw a you-tube video of a walmart employee getting paid for text messages to alert his cronies of ammo shipments. I think there is a lot of this kind of thing going on, as people can double and even triple their money (at least with .22) by selling on gunbroker, etc. It's not all that hard...
Carried my LC9 while looking at my bike wishing I could be riding......40 degrees is better than what its been, but not good enough to ride. Jealous here. :'(
My local Walmart is almost fully stocked (Sioux Center, Ia---NW IA). They've had stacks of almost everything, although .22 gets bought up fast. Ammo-can.net shows almost daily shipments of .22's and I've bought 3 or 4 thousand rounds in the last couple of months. Looks like its turning...
Pops--funny you should say that......its so cold here in IA that I could conceal carry my Mosin M44 (bayonet out) and my 870 as a backup and no one would notice! I might walk a bit stiff-legged, but so is everyone else........
I've been carrying my LC9 IWB lately in a DeSantis and have finally mastered the "tucked"shirt thing. Access suffers a bit, but concealment is outstanding.....LCP still fits better in pocket, but LC9 carries just as well IWB for me.
BDD----I ordered a spam can of 7.62x54r Russian ammo from SGAmmo on Tues the 7th and received it today Fri. the 10th. That's awesome. And for about 20 cents/round including shipping etc.
Little things like that make me happy.
Rich - I'm not very familiar with muzzleloading tech and I thank you for the education about the patch lube. I'll admit I chuckled when you mentioned antifreeze patches......but makes great sense especially when our temps are supposed to "warm up to -9 for a high on Monday". I still think...
lws380 - I'm thinkin' about sending a couple rounds downrange with the old Mosin and warming my mitts on the barrel before grabbin' the LCP. :D
Slowhand - you're a lucky dog to be anywhere south of this polar icecap (Iowa)
RICHGCOOP - antifreeze patches?!?!
The closest indoor range is 40 miles away-not too convenient, and costs $12/half hr or $18/hr. I'm old school and don't like to have to pay to shoot (I'd rather spend money on ammo). But I guess the indoor range option is better than suspending my shooting all together during the cold. I...
