Correct. 10mm & 45 mags are dimensionally the same. Feed lips are different. Some G45 lowers have marked as G10, but are otherwise identical. Mag catches are different, depending on blowback or direct impingement.

DI is smoother shooting. Takes a standard weight buffer. BB is cheaper to buy. Takes a very heavy buffer. Both are loud.

Depends on what you want the muzzle device to do best. Brakes make the worst flash hiders. Flash hiders are the worst brakes. A suppressor is a good compromise of flash and recoil reduction, plus sound reduction. The best AR brake I dver used, was an AK Concepts(primary weapons fsc-556). Good...
