True, I was thinking about ARs and even pistols. I only run the non-led RMR's on my pistols too, so theres no fear of it suddenly not working.

I do not see the point of running fixed irons and a red dot. To me, the point of having a red dot is to be able to see more of the target while shooting. If you want your irons to be easier to see, get a fiber optic front post and it is just as easy to see as the red dot. So IMO -- Red dot...
