The metal inner bezel was a little beat up. 150 grit followed by 400 grit cleaned up the edges and brushed finish.

I've always been a fan of Casio watches, and I've had several models over the years. The older model G-Shock watches appeal to me because of the solid features like solar charging, atomic clock sync, 200m water resistance, ability to survive abuse. More importantly, the case sizes are reasonable...

I should add - Casio still sells the original model DW5600 for around $40. This updated version is the DW5610 and costs around $80.

I lost my original model a few years ago. This is the modern version, nice because it is unchanged in it's style, but is solar powered and auto syncs with the atomic clock radio signal.

It's interesting, and I like the lumed pinstripe. I'm not sure if I would like the elastic band as much as the heavy nylon NATO/Zulu straps. Honestly, I wouldn't mind trying one, but I'll wait until I can find a cheaper knockoff.

If I'm understanding the design correctly, this band stretches like a heavy duty/high quality ace bandage.

I haven't been a big fan of smart watches in general, though I like the variety that's starting to emerge. These hybrid watches do a good job of not looking too techy. I'd definitely be cautious with that water resistance rating. The ratings are vague and very much like TV screen sizes...

I started working on the Seiko this week. I'm waiting on a new crystal

It has the most important quality (for me) in a watch: I like looking at it. I've been trying out different bands and it's pretty versatile - looks decently dressy with this setup.
