HK 45 solves some of that problem...but not completely.

It's the old form vs function. NOTHING feels as comfortable or is as naturally pointable/accurate as a 1911 in my hands. The HKs are just multiverses away in terms of reliability. 1911s are supremely comfortable to carry if you're not a girl.

yep...belt and holster are KEY to comfortable 1911 carry. I have been toying with the idea of carrying the HK45C now instead of a 1911. I know.

When will someone build a reliable .45 ACP carbine that is lightweight, light recoil, holds more than 10 rounds, an isn't made of zinc/potmetal?

Thankfully I work somewhere that is gun friendly. I work at a mechanical/electrical/architectural engineering consulting firm and their company policy is to match whatever the state's laws are. Obviously they don't want you to be carrying rifles in (but I have in FedEx boxes for show and tell)...

Cheap sunglasses now. I keep losing them...plus it's hard for me to spend $350 on sunglasses when I could use that for gun or truck related items. I won't buy $350 sunglasses but think nothing of buying a $2500 rifle. Go figure.
