Unless you want it for super secret squirrel suppressed target killing 7.62x39 is about the same thing and orders of magnitude less expensive. The only real benefit is that it makes a nice suppressor round and is common in ARs.

You guys are really making me want another. I currently have my dad's Marlin 336 from the late 70S he gave Me.

I'm partial to Marlin since that's what I grew up idolizing since my dad had one...but the modern Marlins are disappointing to say the least. I looked at the Henry 45-70 but I don't know how I feel about that big goofy tube feed mechanism.

I'll admit I have a secret level gun fetish. Anybody else? I kind of want another one in either 45-70 or 450 Marlin....I just can't really think of a practical use fo rone. I guess maybe hog hunting....or home defense. Anyone hunt with a big bore lever gun?

I think Arsenal is your only option for new AK-74s....so GB might be your only option. I've only seen on e RPK-74 for sale.

Well I kinda look at it like this: it's an AK. Any of the overseas manufacturers that are known for building AKs should be fine. I don't know that there will be a true $40 difference between the Hungarian and Bulgarian underfolder unit. As long as it's all there it should work. I have heard...

I'm not up on underfolders as I just don't like the feel or the slop. I did have a Hungarian unit and it seemed to be the best economical option. I don't think it matters to much which you go with honestly ( if it is in decent condition and built overseas).

In NY everything is registered and tracked...I think if you buy ammo out of state it has to go through a dealer.
