So my FDE Mk18 upper gets here tomorrow and I need a muzzle device. I've never really messed around with short barreled ARs, any suggestions on what to get? I'm considering a SF 3P warcomp, SF CT warcomp, a YHM Phantom, or maybe a VG6 Gamma. If i got one of the warcomp I'd probably do something...

That ammo is just so expensive...maybe as a secondary rifle. I like 6.8 alot... but ammo is prohibitively expensive

True, and I fall into that category. I shoot rifle probably 2-3 times a year. It isnt really any fun going to shoot a 5.56 or 308 at the 25m rifle ranges around here, and I'm too lazy and too busy to drive an hour or two to an outdoor range with some distance. I do really,really like the 5.45...

So...AKs seem to have died off. Imports have slowed, and they just dont seem to be aa popular. Ive been eyeing another AK74...but man it just seems like a dying platform. Am I off base? It does seem a bit strange that I can buy a Colt AR for $900 or so but a decent AK is about 1050.

Biggest negative I can find about them is availability of both the guns and parts, if you need them. For $850, its tempting
