    Hmmmmm.......

How about a rifle hard case? ;) I'm kidding- I'm way too far away for this to make any real difference to me. And I've never held an AK that I thought I wanted to own.

    Hmmmmm.......

I'm not ashamed of jumping on a deal- when I have fun money. Worst case, I'm gambling the asking price if it were stolen and later seized (I'd reimburse the buyer if that were the case and there was nothing shady about the later sale, if I didn't like it for some reason).

    What LGS carries 1911 parts?

No problem. A guy gave me enough parts to build 5 1911's... he thought he and his "partner" could just order stuff and start a business building custom 1911s. I fitted one complete pistol together and he gave me all the other parts as payment- not slides or frames, but basically everything...

    What LGS carries 1911 parts?

Extended slide stop and matching safety aren't a problem. I don't have any mainspring housings with the mag well attached. I've got springs (mostly) and a couple different triggers.

    What LGS carries 1911 parts?

I can't help with tomorrow, but I have a few boxes of 1911 parts. Let me know what you're looking for- PM or post is fine. I'd have to mail it to ya, unless you can pick up in Macon :)

Ruger is releasing a new polymer handgun

    Hey dammit!! I still drive a 20 year old F-150. :)

Ruger is releasing a new polymer handgun

Can't quite tell- is that an Canik? or however you spell it... I don't have a good answer, other than the typical "buy American" or whatever. I've had good experiences with Ruger pistols. But (aside from .22) I haven't owned one of their semi-autos since the old P90 I still have. Shot my...

Ruger is releasing a new polymer handgun

Yeah- didn't last long at all. I just listed it for what I paid. Excellent ergonomics in my opinion, but I didn't like the "X-Wing" sights or the cost of the mags. And it was just another 9mm- I had that caliber covered from subcompact through full size. And still have it covered. Why the...

Ruger is releasing a new polymer handgun

The more I look at it, the more I think this thing resembles the Styer M9 I had for awhile and traded/sold. Neat enough pistol, but I didn't want to have to buy mags for something different (read: non-Glock 9mm). Clearly, I have not learned my lesson and I'm still thinking the new Ruger might...

Ruger is releasing a new polymer handgun

Gotta agree- at least some of the lines are blended. I'm interested in handling one. I've finally learned not to judge based on pictures and appearances. I hope the bore axis is lower than it appears... I'm way too used to shooting Glocks and like the barrel close to my hands.

Ruger is releasing a new polymer handgun

Heck, I don't mind the way it looks at all- however keep in mind I shoot and carry Glocks on a regular basis. I'll definitely handle in if I see it in a local store. And may end up buying one of them.

    Ultrasonic cleaners - your input?

Better link: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/09-00809.php?clickkey=6888 $20/gallon. I don't know how that compares to other websites.

    An Evolved Mags/Gun debate

Nah- just the boring old .22LR mags. When ammo was readily available, those were the ones that saw the most wear and tear. I liked watching the kids empty 25 round mags... but I hated loading them again.

    An Evolved Mags/Gun debate

I haven't seen seen anyone post .22 mags yet... I did buy a handful of Butler Creek 10/22 mags (which seems silly considering that I can't go buy ammo now). I feel like I've got enough center fire rifle mags. Not nearly as many as most folks have posted, but I have enough mags and rebuild...

    Ultrasonic cleaners - your input?

We ordered from www.aircraftspruce.com I don't know how their prices compare, but we could get the cleaner, phosphate etch, and alodine from them on one order.

    Ultrasonic cleaners - your input?

I have no experience with ultrasonic cleaners, but I can tell you that Simple Green Extreme is awesome. I've used it to clean up aircraft parts that came in from deployment (nasty as hell) before we reverse engineered/upgraded/or tested them. Most all of that stuff was aluminum or magnesium...

    Oops... missed that one.

    Blank "canvas"

Sounds like you need an A1/A2 upper with a 7.62 barrel in it - and some triangle hand guards. I guess that would work- I have no experience with barrel extension OD between the 7.62x39 and .223/5.56 barrels.
