They look nice, but I don't think the "ultra match" name is very accurate. (did you see that pun?) And they cost about half a stock G17's MSRP. Besides that, I've only met a couple of people that get any benefit out of a match pistol barrel. Other than a cool looking barrel.

I never thought about it that way- my initial thought was that grey would be a little less noticeable if my shirt gets lifted up for some reason, but the older OD would be far better for blending into my skin color. I guess this is for the same reason car companies branched out from Henry...

Personally, I like the Gen 4 grip much more. I had a gilled G17 RTF2 and a gilled G19 RTF2 (still kicking myself for selling those for $500 or less). The RTF2 is really rough as hell in my opinion. I mean, 9mm doesn't kick that much.

Winchester SXZ currently... but looking to change to a bonded projectile. I have two boxes of Ranger T at home in the 147 grain variety- just haven't had time to go function check a box in my G26.

Good deal- I've seen a few over pressured rifle barrels due to very similar problems. But at least in my experience, you have to do something really wrong to fire a live round after a squib. I've yet to see a true squib round cycle a semiauto action.

Rimfire irons heard- I've said before (during a bullseye match) that red dots are cheating. And I was shooting the red dot that day. I'll be following the rules on this postal match (assuming I can read the rules... fail so far on the irons). I will be sure to get the pistol in the picture...

I might need a video instead of just still pictures then... I've got a MK II with an old Tasco red dot on it that I've shot 10x rounds several times at 25 yard bullseye matches. I guess we'll see this weekend.

Nice write up and good looking pistol! I went the AR9 route before I found out about these. That might not stop me from getting one in the future though.
