Honestly, magazine cost is the reason I don't already have anything HK or Walther.
I've had a M&P 9 and a Steyr M9 that I probably didn't keep two months- they didn't do anything my plastic fantastic pistols can't do and the mags were expensive- and I didn't have a way to carry them.
Oh- and...
I started out not liking the plastic pistols. Then decided that I should really own one and give it a fair shake. I bought a police trade in G17 at a gun show for about $400 out the door. And it quickly became one of my favorites.
Now I'm too deep into mags and holsters to get away from Glocks.
My favorite line in that ad: "For best results, allow at least a 200 rounds for a proper break in."
I guess that's how you break in an AK. None of this shoot one round and clean the bore, shoot two rounds and clean the bore...
You could tell people to go read Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn- it's one of those.
For a name change, you are probably going to have to do some favors for @Hoss.
$200 for a threaded barrel (assuming factory length threaded barrel)... Never done business with these guys before though:

No outdoor gun club. I'm all too familiar with FRP and everybody's theory on why it happens. I shot 8 or 10 rounds out of that first magazine. My initial reaction was "why the hell did I buy this thing?"... After loading some 147 and 124 grain subsonic rounds, it's been a very good can...
I like the concept. Although it looks like they just wrapped a big kydex 'baffle' around the end of the pistol. I'm sure there's more to it than that.
I'm also not sure about the claim "hearing safe with all factory ammo"... after getting my first 9mm can, all I had was 115 grain super...
1. You are using too much lube.
2. I think Bryan told me he could thread a factory 92FS barrel... any comments @N Word Jim ? I think you had one in the retail counter at one time when I was in the store... long time ago though.
I've mic'd my barrel before and there is enough meat on it to...
Yep. The last mint tube I bought locally was just under $440 and spot was closer to $19/oz. Now spot is at least $4/oz less and a mint tube is going to cost just a little over $400, while based solely on spot, you'd expect it to be $80 cheaper.
TW25-B... that is a new one on me. I used to use Hoppe's gun grease on slide rails. But after I pulled out a pistol I hadn't shot in probably 3 years, it had turned into something akin to dried pine sap. I mean good grief it was awful. Almost enough to hold the slide in place against the...
