No, you don't "un-float" it, you just basically extend the contact the barrel has with the receiver. It's locked into the receiver anyway, you're simply beefing that connection up. As long as the harmonics are repeatable (which they are with bedding) your accuracy will not be negatively...

Maybe chop and re-thread the barrel to stiffen it? You have a lot of barrel to work with. Maybe take it down a few inches.

Yeah, all I'll need to do is aim slightly higher to accomplish the same thing. lol I'm basically punching paper at 100-300 and hunting at 100m and under. The lowly 5.56x45 will do that for me no problemo.
