Just to confirm: No special provisions to take a suppressor to another state...

So I've received a couple of texts from resident SET experts that confirm that it is legal to transport to a state where they are legal without additional ATF documentation. Thanks for the responses!

But is that form needed if suppressors are legal in the destination state?

In my case, I will be "searched" so-to-speak as I'm going to be checking it in at the airport and the TSA will review the contents of the case (a couple of pistols, suppressor and some ammo) before it is locked up for transport.

So from your quote: The ATF does not require this prior authorization for a suppressor means I'm good ... yes?

Even if taken to a state where they are legal? Do you have a link? (Not trying to be argumentative, just really trying to figure out if any paperwork is required)

Not sure if I'm missing something here, but form 5320.1 is the ATF form for application to make and register a firearm .... ??

Just to confirm: No special provisions to take a suppressor to another state...

I have an upcoming trip that has afforded me the ability to take a couple of pistols as well as my suppressor with me. I'm headed to TX (via airline) where suppressors are legal, I have transported firearms via air on several occasions and plan to pack the suppressor in the same case as the...

Converting an AR pistol to a rifle...

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong if things have changed recently, but to my knowledge, the BATFE said it is legal to build the receiver into a pistol first and then convert it to a rifle, then back again, as long as the barrel isn't under 16"with a stock

Thoughts or experience with S&W M&P Shield 380 EZ?

I didn't compare them side-by-side, but I'm thinking the .380 would be a tad slimmer, no?

Actually, the thumb safety may not be bad in this case as her last pistol was a PX4 Storm Sub, chambered in 9mm, which I believe is still larger than the 380 EZ, but she kinda struggled with manipulation... In any case, she's used to a thumb safety, and if she carries it in a purse, a thumb...

Good info, thnx. I didn't want to get anything too Sub-compact as I didn't want recoil to be an issue, but if you're saying it shoots soft, we might be on the right track.

Sorry about that, was doing a drive-by posting before jumping into some other work ... Figured with all the folks on SET, somebody may have played with one of these ... the problem with Academy is that some of the counter folks won't take the trigger lock off to let you dry-fire, so I was...

Thoughts or experience with S&W M&P Shield 380 EZ?

Similar situation, looking to purchase for myself to test first (may keep it), but primary driving factor is that I have a female family member with some early arthritis and her hands lack the power to manipulate the slide on some pistols. She has some experience with handguns, but she needs...

Saw it on sale at Academy for $340, comes with a free pistol vault box. The model I was looking at has the optional thumb safety along with the standard grip safety. Single stack, 8 rnd capacity, slim & compact, just curious if anyone has any experience with them...
