Big fan of the Aimpoint Micros. I've got 2 T1's, an H1, and a T2. I've used all the Aimpoints, the MRO, and most of the Eotech's. Keep coming back to the Aimpoint Micro.

Replace the receiver extension tube with a quality one. Ain't that expensive.

I won't carry a gun with a magazine disconnect, but I love BHP's and 3rd Gen S&W DA/SA's. So, I remove the magazine disconnect from them. A quick Google showed how to remove the magazine disconnect from a Ruger LC9.

I can rent you a rifle for the course, if you'd like. Any short action caliber works just fine. .308, .260, 7mm-08, 6.5CM, etc. I have students use an 18" AR with 75-77grn bullets and they do fine, as well.
