Yeah, that muzzle is rough. I'm slightly concerned about what the inside of the barrel looks like... coming from someone that has very corrosive sweat.

Best advice... don't buy it if it's not the one you want. Some of that might clean up, new grips, new grip screws... worst case, @FatAlbert can cover all those sins. But I'd figure all that into my offer.

What exactly are your symptoms, besides backfiring? Running hot? Coolant in oil? Missing (sounds like the timing was fixed)? I'd pop a valve cover open and see how it looks in there. Did it have new spark plugs? Old gas?

Make sure it is state specific.
