Easy to make you're own. I use deer, but you could probably get by with really lean beef. You want to avoid fat for long-term storage. If you're gonna prep for a trip within a couple weeks it won't matter.

I make those dehydrated meals, add boiled water then let them sit in an insulated pouch for 10-15 minutes. They are in a quart freezer bag (NOT a storage bag) - the long spoon is a big plus for that.
You know that brings up another point. If you're hiking with others you can eliminate the redundancy by one hiker hauling the water, one hauling the stove etc...
My wife hauls her Zpack tent. I haul the tarp. We each carry our own stove/food, it just makes prep faster but some folks do it...
