I have gotten away from optics on most of my smaller framed rifle/ pistols. I prefer irons personally. Now I do plan on putting some type of scope/ optic on my 300 blk but that will be for more precision shooting/ hunting platform

I got my vote for the m&p 22. I have the standard size and it feels great and shoots great. Plus I like the cross over to the pistol I carry.

Also I don't plan on shooting at all while they are at the range. That way they will have my full attention.

Yes this is handguns. I will be taking my little collection for them get a feel. I do have a .22 that I will get them started on so they will not be overwhelmed and will probably end up renting a couple different ones also.
