POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

10 cents per round for Mini Mags is not a bad deal at all these days. Around here we are paying 10 cents for much lesser quality ammo.......when we can find it that is. I have not saw Mini Mags in at least a year now.

Massad Ayoob's 10 Commandments of Concealed Carry

No doubt he knows his stuff in regards to the gun thing. When he starts telling people what kind of car to buy or what kind of dog to get that is when I think he has gotten a little full of himself.

Massad Ayoob's 10 Commandments of Concealed Carry

I don't buy every single thing he says or writes, but he has some great books to read, I think his biggest seller is called In The Gravest Extreme (is that right?) and it is a must for anyone that carries a firearm or even keeps one in the home.

    Home defense ammo for shotguns

I am a huge fan of the 20 gauge. I had the Saigas in 410, 20, and 12. The 12, which is the clear favorite, was my least favorite. Pretty nasty recoil if you were shooting a lot. I don't shoot as often as I like so when I do, I throw a lot of lead. The .410 is fun but light on lead and heavy on...

Wow. That is a good deal. Around here 9mm target ammo is about $25 per box.

Tons of .22 cal. - Get ready for small game season! No shortage

Bigdog, that was a Gamo ad. Actually not many airgunners liked the commercial. A 22 cal pellet rifle is really not adequate for a hog. However they now make air rifles in 357. 9mm 50 cal etc. Here is the all american Benjamin (Crosman) Rogue to give you a idea. I wouldn't pick up an air rifle...

Tons of .22 cal. - Get ready for small game season! No shortage

davevabch, I don't know if it was you who posted it or not, but I recently saw a guy kill a small pig (under 50 lbs.) with a pellet rifle. Now let me clarify. He didn't just kill it. He hit it behind the ear and absolutely dropped it in it's tracks! I was impressed.

Is anyone passing up new toys because of the ammo shortage?

I am completely done buying guns for the year! I was about at max budget when I bought a Mini 14 and a LC9 about 2 or 3 weeks apart. Of course I had to buy a bunch of ammo for the Mini after I got it. My gun budget is shot. I just hope Ruger doesn't release a SR45c or I am in big trouble. :o

Colt Government Model 1911 A1 cal. .22 LR (Walther)

"Sorry you got the shaft there pal. But sometimes it goes that way." Call it what you will, but here where I live if you don't pay 10 cents per round you will not be shooting your .22 for a while and you will be lucky if you find it all. I will continue to pay 10 cents per round when I am...

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

When I tell people that I see no .22 long rifle for sale.........period..........at any price in retail stores I think some believe I am saying none for effect. No.......I mean ZERO .22 long rifle. On armslist they are selling it for 15 - 20 cents per round. Crazy and maddening.

Colt Government Model 1911 A1 cal. .22 LR (Walther)

Thanks guys and I certainly will enjoy it. Since I have not seen any .22 long rifle ammo for nearly a year, if I see it for 10 cents a round or less, I am buying it......and shooting it.

Colt Government Model 1911 A1 cal. .22 LR (Walther)

BTW, the box I bought was clearly an old box that somebody had traded in and it was the only .22 long rifle in the store.

Colt Government Model 1911 A1 cal. .22 LR (Walther)

I just paid $48 for the same thing and could not get the money out of my pocket fast enough. Do I hate paying that for .22 long rifle? Yes I do. But I have not seen .22 long rifle in a retail store since before Newtown. Let me make this clear. Not one freaking time in nearly a year. I take that...

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

What somebody paid in South Carolina just doesn't really help me in Indiana. I just can't make the drive. And yes. My attitude on the rimfire ammo situation is pretty bad.

POLL: When will the ammo shortage end?

Not ripped off when it is not available. I have seen .22 ammo twice in a retail location since Newtown. TWICE, as in two more times than zero. Both times it was about 10 cents per round and one of those time it was .22 longs not long rifle. I wish I lived in the land of plenty but apparently .22...
