    Older LCP - recoil spring

Some after markets springs only have one spring, replacing the two stock ones. But I'd err on the side of caution and replace it with a new set. Get a hold of Ruger they'd probably help you out. Depending on the price, it might be a good catch. Even if the previous owner didn't take care of it.

How much has the ammo hoarding and scalping decreased your shooting?

I picked up 3 boxes of Fiocchi 380 ammunitions this afternoon. $17.99 each for a total cost of $65.23 after taxes. With what I already have stashed away that ought to do it. At least one range trips coming this week.

Lafever 12 gauge shotgun double barrels

Many moons ago from 1885 to 1916 there was a company in Syracuse, New York owned by Dan Lefever or Uncle Dan, as he was called. Old Dan designed and manufactured shotguns. Some were graded high dollars, some or less. He produced 60,000 and was right up there with the big boys. He eventually got...

    Some have kept their dignity-

Some of the local and chains have kept their cool about it. They limit how many boxes per customer and in between trucks things get tight. Finding out when the trucks come in and out helps. But Wal Mart for example has a random schedule and it's all gone real quick like. Back in 2008 I had a...

    Uncanny resemblance

Ray The sights were barely there and they were really up close and personal kind of gals to say the least. But be it on a Civil War Battlefield or looking at a whole bunch of Indians I' rather have either than a single shot black powder pistol. The sights on the Colt were a pin on the front and...

    Uncanny resemblance

You are quite welcome. I'm the Village Idiot compared to some folks on this and other forums. I got started collecting firearms a few years back and have done a lot of research. That attention to detail thing or an OCD drives me nuts sometimes. How the handgun evolved from the early days when...

    Uncanny resemblance

I was curious to check these puppies out so I cleaned up the photos. I have a stack or two of old and new firearms and always appreciate their differences. They do have some commonalities but there are some differences. The time honored 1911 classic design something to behold. But the Ruger...

Did I hear this right? ........

I guess so. I filed my taxes last night. Since I retired this year, I dropped from the 28% Tax Bracket to only 25%. But I still have to write some checks again this year. The fellow who said "Taxation without representation is tyranny!" ought to see it "With representation."

The NRA steps up the pace in Connecticut

Ruger is head quartered in Southport, Connecticut where it started. They have plants in Newport, New Hampshire, and Prescott, Arizona. Based upon the ones that I own. Ruger LCPs, LC9s, LC380s, Ruger Mark IIIs and SR 1911s come from Prescott. Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskans, New Single Six's and...

Oh God, I can just see ammo hoarding phase two just beginning

LOL. The guy with the air gun lives in New York. In a few years he'll have to get a sling shot, provided he get's it registered and passes a back ground check. Good article though. I liked the bit where the fellow says he "thinks" there is going to be an ammo shortage. The hoarding started...

    Cobra Firearms model CA380

I was out making the rounds yesterday and ran into a Cobra 380. A interesting little piece. These little 380s are made by Cobra Arms, in Salt Lake City, Utah. It has a 5 round magazine. An alloy frame, gives it a weight of 22 ounces. It’s 5.4” overall in length and has a 4” height. Cobra...
