    MADNESS!

Hang in there. Take the Meds, do the exercise and keep on going. I've been through loads of stuff since I retired in 1993 but looking forward to 1 May 2013 to celebrate 20 years of military retirement. Last year I retired from the 2nd Federal Career and took social security. I aim to stick...

Cutting throught the crap on ammo shortage: The sky is not falling

I went out and made some of the rounds this afternoon. No .22LR or .380 ACP available until I got to Palmetto State Armory. They had just started stocking their shelves with some Federal 525 Round Value Packs. I picked up 3 of them. I spoke with their Assistant General Manager, he said they had...

    What's in your pockets?

I have a thing for holsters. Top left: A Ruger LC380 in a Mitch Rossi Express Line Holster for a LC9. I had to adjust the contrast of the photo to get it to show up. The holster spent the night with the weapon in a plastic bag to get the holster to loosen up. Bottom Left: A Ruger LCP in a...

    Cobra Firearms model CA380

Understand the never again thing. I very rarely pay sticker price, on a used firearm. The guy who owns this place focuses mainly on the Pawn part of the business. He had a great looking, older, Mauser 7.62 Bolt Action Rifle. That was tagged for $365. I offered $300. Just to check the water. He...

    What's in your pockets?

Kimber Super Carry Pro 1911 .45 ACP, or Walther PPK S1 . 380 ACP for a main carry. Weather and how I’m dressed are also taken into consideration. The Ruger LCP .380, with a CT Laser, goes along as a BUG or sometimes flies solo. Columbia River Knife & Tool makes the Kommer 30 – 30, a great...

State-by-state information on recent proposed new gun laws

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/multimedia/gunmap/ Here a bit of information about recent gun control laws that have passed or failed. What PBS choses to call failure, I'd call success when gun owners stand up for their rights.

http://www.gun-parts.com/remington22rifle/ Bob's could be a good source. The Old Carnival Guns go way back to the early 1900s. Back in the day you could go to a midway and win a cuipe doll for your sweet heart, plus impress her with your marksman ship. One summer, as a teenager, I got a job...

    Homeowner self defense.. Owner-2 .... BG's-0

I guess since the home owner didn't have 24/7 Secret Service or other security, like our politicians, he felt the need to defend himself. That works for me.

They price gouge on ammo sales. Unfortunately they have a great collection of antique and modern firearms. They will not negotiate and thus they have a rather large inventory.

    GunBroker.com question

LOL. Gun Broker is Caveat Emptor an old Latin Phrase meaning "Let the Buyer Beware". I've bid on and purchased several antique firearms (Per the BATF made before 1899!). As Skip suggested, I always check out the Sellers Ratings, History or anything else I could find out about them before...

Cutting throught the crap on ammo shortage: The sky is not falling

http://firearmshistory.blogspot.com/2010/05/cartridges-centerfire-cartridge.html Make a few stops today at the local shops. No 380 ammo but plenty of 9mm. Above is a little article that explains some thing about how center fire ammunitions works. Manufactures priming material consists of...

    Cobra Firearms model CA380

At 7 yards, it might take some practice but that can happen. I didn’t much care for the safety and other internal parts on it either. But you get what you pay for. Another one of those “Curio” period pieces for the collection. Raven, Cobra, Bryco, Davis, Jennings or Lorcin are all bird of the...

    Cobra Firearms model CA380

I made it out to the range yesterday. I took the Cobra 380 and an Ruger LC380. I ran 2 magazines through the Cobra 380, 10 rounds total. Less recoil and snap, due to the weight and design. Up close and personal at 5 Yards, with some practice, she could do the job. Beyond that or more than 7...

    Range A, B and C

Interesting story. If I were going to shoot a lot of 9mm, reloading is starting to sound better and better. I picked up 4 Boxes of PMC 9mm back in February. 50 rounds each, at $47.04 (taxes included) per box. At that rate a 1,000 rounds would cost me $940.00 :o I'm sticking with 380's and 22 LRs.
