Having aiming problems, can anyone help?

If you do find that your eyes aren't able to focus like they used to, the recent boom in slide ride optics for carry guns is a good alternative. I used to have a XD9 that I sent to Bowie Tactical Concepts and had the slide milled for a Leupold Delta Point. It was a great setup. Like running...

    Best ar10 platform components...

Can't help you there...I know several guys that use Mega upper/lowers but that's about it. I run SCAR17 so I never researched it much.

Bass pro shops is buying cabellas

I don't shop at either. Can't stand the prices and usual lack or knowledge/service from the staff at the big box stores like that.

    Training for a shooting situation

The other thing you can do for stress is shoot competition. Something like USPSA, where you're shooting on a shot timer, causes different physiological reactions in the body. Forced exertion is good, but the stress of competition causes more of a chemical dump of adrenaline, etc. that exercise...

    Training for a shooting situation

That is a really broad brush stroke. First and foremost, know the law inside and out when it comes to lethal force and concealed carry in Ohio. As for the firearm, train, practice, and train, practice some more! Get to the point you can hit exactly what you need to on command. Draw from the...

Guns you don't know why you bought?!

For my wife it was all about the trigger and sights. She hated the double action trigger and super tiny sights of the j-frame....the G42 actually has REAL sights for being such a small gun, and with the Ghost Edge connector it has a really nice trigger as well. I think that's what won her over...

Guns you don't know why you bought?!

My wife's gun was a S&W 637 Airweight for several years....until she shot my G42. That's was it. In an effort to not lose my back-up gun I had to go buy one for her! Admittedly, she shot the G42 like a pro compared to her j-frame, so I couldn't really argue much!

Guns you don't know why you bought?!

Mine is probably a EAA Witness steel frame 9mm. It's a nice shooting gun, but as a Glock guy I pretty much never shoot the thing. Honestly....only reason I have it is because I got it in a trade. lol Adding the fact they quite making them in 1994 and it's in excellent condition it's kind of...

    Best Gun Range In Ohio?

While I've never been to either, I know guys that head east of you to Thunder Valley Precision or Rayner's for all their long range precision stuff. Maybe 1.5hrs from you. I believe it's TVP that has a 1 mile + range.

Having aiming problems, can anyone help?

That is tough to diagnose without 1 on 1 evaluation. What is your dominate eye and dominate hand? Also, are you shooting both eyes open or are you closing a specific eye when you shoot?

    Apex glock triggers

Had my first change to put about 20 or so rounds through a G17 with one of the APEX triggers in it. It was unlike any other Glock trigger I've ever shot....I run a Glockworx/ZEV Technologies trigger in my G34 and it had a totally different feel. Just curious if anyone out there has more...

    Quick disconnect barrel for ar15

Never seen or used one. I believe DRT Tactical had something similar for a while. I just never could see the value in spending money on a take down system when I can pop two receiver pins and take the gun in half. Nifty idea, but almost a solution for a problem that doesn't exist....in the AR...

Just got my glock 19 made in the usa

If you plan on using it as a daily carry pistol/fighting gun get rid of the junk plastic factory sights and have a good set of metal sight (with a squared front edge) installed. If you try to rack the slide during one handed manipulations, or are attempting to break open a stuck slide by...

Anyone teach hand to hand combat in addition to ccw

No, there is absolutely no requirement to learn unarmed fighting techniques to obtain your concealed carry permit...according to the State of Ohio. However, if this instructor decides that you receiving your certificate of completion is dependent on doing this hand to hand stuff.....he could...

    Steel Ar500 Targets

I'm not an expert, but talking to a metallurgist friend of mine it sounds like it really depends on how many rounds and where the hits are. You hit almost all center mass and use it for fun it should be good for a long time. Lots of edge hits and you'll see cracks sooner. I use steel along...

Can't say I've ever used it. I'm a pretty dedicated Frog Lube user. With the amount of cleaning products on the market not too many really stand out above the rest.

    Steel Ar500 Targets

Anyone paying that much for a 6" must have more money than brains. Making your own will likely not give you the quality you get with a good manufacturer. Sure, I can buy a 4x8 sheet of AR500 for $800, but how am I going to cut it? Torch? The heat weakens all the edges and will cause premature...
